chronic muscle pain all over.. stabbing like pain

Ok I went to a neurologist yesterday. I wasn't impressed, I told her that I've been having pains ALL OVER! legs, knees, feet, hands etc. and that when I was on lexapro the pains I think went away. She wants me back on a anti-depressant again... I don't feel depressed I don't have the thoughts go through my head like I did before.
I'm very fatigued all day long even with coffee, lived with diabetes for 23 years (diagnosed at age 4) I live near the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. I'm just getting sick of the run around I have no insurance and can't afford to "try" things out.
They drew blood yesterday to check the numbers in it for for muscle disease. I tried talking to 2 nurses to see if they were going to check for fibromyalgia. She said no... does depression cause pains? could I be depressed and not know it?
Depression can cause body aches, irritability, definitely fatigue. You should go apply for medicaid and yes most people are depressed and don't realize it, especially if you don't have the energy to go out and do activities and can have cabin fever.I would take hot baths and relax for about 30 minutes in it a few times day, use a heating pad and if need be, get some Ben Gay that they sell over the counter and rub it in the areas you're sore.Not everyone has thoughts that go through their head and can take time to develop them,but that doesn't mean you aren't depressed.Try taking a walk, even if it's just through the mall a few times a week and see if that helps some and will also work out the soreness through your body.
